Event ID 3014 — Server Name Compliance

When Windows Essential Business Server is installed, the Management Server, Messaging Server, and Security Server are given names that must remain the same after the installation is finished.

Resolve
Reset the server name
To resolve this issue, you must change the name of the server back to the one that was assigned during installation.
Renaming your servers after Windows EBS is installed is not supported.
To change the name of the server back to the one that was assigned during installation
- Click Start, right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
- In the Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings section, click Change Settings.
- Click Change, and then type the name that was assigned during installation.
If you saved the planning data when you ran the Windows Essential Business Server Planning Wizard, you can retrieve the server names that were provided during installation from the data. For more information about the Planning Wizard, see "Use the Planning Wizard" at the Microsoft Web site (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=137233).
Verify
Ensure that the name of the server is the same as the name that was provided during installation.
To verify the server name
- Click Start, right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
- The computer name is listed in the Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings section.
Ensure that event ID 3014 does not appear again in the Microsoft-Windows-Essential Business Server/Operational event log. Look for event ID 3004 in the Microsoft-Windows-Essential Business Server/Operational event log to verify that the server name is successfully changed.
