Viewing and printing reports

Applies To: Forefront Client Security

Reports are accessible from the Client Security reporting server. A few reports are also accessible from the Client Security console. Reporting services provide several options when you view reports, such as configurable time spans and data filtering by policy.

Viewing and printing a report

You can view reports by using a Web browser to access Report Manager on the reporting server.

You can also access reports by using the Client Security console.

For more information about report viewing permissions, see Working with user roles.

To view and print a report by using Report Manager

  1. Open the reporting Web site. If you chose the default virtual directory for reports, the URL would be:

    https://hostname/Reports/

If you chose to secure the viewing of reports with HTTPS, the URL would be:

    https://hostname/Reports/

  2. Click Microsoft Operations Manager Reporting, and then click Microsoft Forefront Client Security. A list of available reports appears.

  3. Click the report you want to view. The reporting console displays the report you chose.

  4. As needed, modify the viewing options and click View Report to apply the options you selected. For more information, see Report viewing options.

  5. To print the report, click the Print icon.

If the client print control software for SQL Server Reporting Services is not installed on the computer printing the report, you will be prompted to install it.

    Note

The dialog box for installing the client print control may state that you need to install SQL Server; however, the only software that is installed when you accept the installation is the client print control.

To access a report by using the Client Security console

  1. On the management server, open the Client Security console.

  2. On the Dashboard tab, click the report you want to view. Reporting links are available under Summary Reports and under Computers Per Issue.

    Note

Whether the report opens a new window or tab (as opposed to the existing window or tab) is controlled by the settings of your default browser. In Internet Explorer, the Reuse windows for launching shortcuts option on the Advanced tab of the Internet Options dialog box controls this behavior.

  3. As needed, modify the viewing options and click View Report to apply the options you selected. For more information, see Report viewing options.
