Viewing Management Pack Reports

View the reports included in the Management Pack through the MOM Reporting Server in the environment. Access these reports through any Web browser that SQL Server Reporting Services supports.

To view the reports in the Management Pack

  1. Browse to https://servername/Reports (where servername is the name of the MOM Reporting Server).

  2. Log on by using the appropriate credentials.

  3. On the SQL Server Reporting Services Home page, click the Microsoft Operations Manager Reporting link.

  4. On the Microsoft Operations Manager Reporting page, click the Solution Accelerator for Business Desktop Deployment link.

  5. On the Solution Accelerator for Business Desktop Deployment page, click the link for desired report.

For more information about running reports in SQL Server Reporting Services, and subsequently MOM reporting, see the Help link on any page in SQL Server Reporting Services.

Note   The starting and ending date parameters in all reports do not include an accurate date range. If expected information does not appear in the report, try adjusting the starting date and ending date to include a broader range.

Reducing the Delay in Updates to the Reports

MOM 2005 runs a scheduled task to transfer data from the OnePoint database to the SystemCenterReporting database. By default, the task runs once per day at 01:00. This implies that the information represented in the Management Pack reports could be up to 24 hours old. Teams can modify the frequency of this task to reduce the delay in updates to the reports.

To reduce the delay in updates to the reports

  1. On the MOM Reporting Server, click Start, point to Control Panel, point to Scheduled Tasks, and then click SystemCenterDTSPackageTask.

  2. In the SystemCenterDTSPackageTask dialog box, on the Schedule tab, modify the schedule accordingly, and then click OK.

Note   Increasing the frequency too much may adversely affect the performance of the OnePoint database and the overall performance of MOM 2005.
