Configuring NFS permissions on a file or folder

Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2

To configure NFS permissions using Windows Explorer

  1. Open Windows Explorer: click Start, point to Programs or All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Windows Explorer.

  2. Right-click the name of the file or directory.

  3. Click Properties, and then click the NFS Attributes tab.

  4. In File attributes (mode), select or clear the check boxes corresponding to the mode bits that you want to use, click Apply, and then click OK. To close the dialog box without making any changes, click Cancel.

Note

Only the owner of a file or a user with appropriate permissions can change the mode of a file.
There is no command-line method for this procedure.
