Planning for Message Queuing

This section suggests ways to plan for and deploy Message Queuing in your organization. Planning and deployment options are included. For details, see the following links:

  • Considerations should be made for performance requirements when planning a Message Queuing deployment. For an overview of performance related considerations and the recommended rollout process for a Message Queuing deployment see Planning Overview.

  • For information about optimizing Message Queuing performance through the management of disk resources used by Message Queuing, see Message Queuing Message and Data Files.

  • Message Queuing can be deployed in either a domain or a workgroup environment. In the context of Message Queuing, a domain environment includes domain controllers that provide a directory service such as Active Directory Domain Services. For more information, see Deploying in a Domain Environment.

  • A workgroup does not provide or have access to such a directory service, and can be run in an environment that is not part of a domain. For more information about workgroup deployment, see Deploying in Workgroup Mode.

  • Message Queuing supports the sending of messages over HTTP. For more information about deploying in an Internet environment, see Internet Deployment Considerations.
