Change the Base Priority of Queues

Use this procedure to change the base priority of a public Message Queuing queue.
You can use this procedure to change the base priority of a public Message Queuing queue. Change the base priority of a public Message Queuing queue to give the messages sent to the queue a higher (or lower) priority than messages sent to other queues.
Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.
To change the base priority of a public Message Queuing queue
Click Start, point to Run, type compmgmt.msc, and press ENTER to display the Computer Management MMC console.
In the console tree, right-click the applicable public queue.
Where?
- Computer Management/Services and Applications/Message Queuing/Public Queues/ YourQueue
Click Properties.
On the General page, in Base Priority, type a new value or use the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW keys to enter a new value.
Additional considerations
The base priority can be set from -32768 to 32767. The default priority setting is 0.
The base priority (also known as queue priority) can be set only for public queues. Private queues do not support base priority.
