Edit the local Group Policy object

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To edit the local Group Policy object

  1. Open Group Policy Object Editor.

  2. In the console tree, double-click the folders to view the policies in the details pane.

  3. In the details pane, double-click a policy to open the Properties dialog box, and then change the policy settings.

Notes

  • To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the Domain Administrators security group, the Enterprise Administrators security group, or the Group Policy Creator Owners security group.

  • To open the local Group Policy object, click Start, click Run, type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.

  • To open Group Policy Object Editor, see Related Topics.

  • Changes that you make to the local Group Policy object are saved automatically.
