Stop redirecting users' folders to the server

After you stop redirecting users’ folders to the server, users’ must log off the client computer that is connected to the network, and then log on to allow the folder redirection Group Policy to update on the client computers. When the users log on to the server, the users’ redirected folders are downloaded from the server to the client computer.

Note

You must be a network administrator to complete this procedure.

To stop redirecting folders to the server for multiple user accounts

  1. Open the Windows SBS Console.

  2. Open the Folder Redirection Properties dialog box in one of the following ways:

    1. On the navigation bar, click Shared Folders and Web Sites, and then click Shared Folders.

      OR

    2. On the navigation bar, click the Users and Groups tab, and then click Users.

  3. In the Tasks pane, click Redirect folders for user accounts to the server. The Folder Redirection Properties dialog box opens.

  4. On the User Accounts tab, clear the check box for each user account with folders that you want to stop redirecting to the server. You can also select Select all users or Deselect all users.

  5. Click OK.

To stop redirecting folders to the server for one user account

  1. Open the Windows SBS Console.

  2. On the navigation bar, click the Users and Groups tab, and then click Users.

  3. Right-click the user account, and then click Properties.

  4. In the User Properties dialog box, click the Folders tab, and then clear the Enable folder redirection to the server check box.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Request that users log off their client computers, and then log on to update the Group Policy.
Users may need to log off and log on to their client computers as many as three times to update the Group Policy and redirect the folders to the client computers.
