Resetting the Exchange Server account credentials

[This topic is pre-release documentation and is subject to change in future releases. Blank topics are included as placeholders.]

If you are unable to set the antispam settings through the Forefront Sever Security Administrator user interface, this may be due to one of the following causes:

  • Incorrect credentials were specified during the Forefront Security for Exchange Server (FSE) installation process.
  • The Exchange Admin password has expired or been changed.

You can reset the Exchange Server user credentials in order to enable this capability in the FSE user interface.

To reset the Exchange Server user credentials

  1. In Control Panel, click Administrative Tools, and then click Component Services.

  2. In the Component Services interface, expand Component Services, expand Computers, expand My Computer, and then open DCOM Config.

  3. Right-click FSEAntispamSettings, and then click Properties.

  4. In the FSEAntispamSettings Properties dialog box, perform the following steps:

    1. Click the Identity tab.
    2. Verify that the user account can access and manage the Exchange Server.
    3. Re-enter and confirm the password, and then click OK. This ensures that the account is properly set.
