Issue

A notification includes a variable that references a remote path that is not valid. The following objects have notifications with no corresponding share: \n\n\tQuotas: {0};\n\n\tFile Screens: {1}; \n\n\tFile Management Jobs: {2}

Impact

The notification will not include the variable; it will be omitted from the message.

Resolution

Remove the variable from the notification, specify an existing shared folder in the variable, or create a shared folder that matches the shared folder referenced in the variable.

For Quotas, File Screens, and File Management Tasks, you can configure e-mail notifications through the Edit Properties function of each quota, file screen, or task. For example, for Quotas, use the following procedure to configure a notification:

  • Right-click a quota.

  • Click Edit Quota Properties.

  • Click a Notification threshold, and then click Edit.

  • Click the E-mail Message tab.

    You can include variables in the Message body. The text that is in brackets inserts variable information about the file screen event that caused the notification.

To remove a variable from a notification by using File Server Resource Manager

  1. In Administrative Tools, click File Server Resource Manager.

    1. Right-click a quota.

    2. Click Edit Quota Properties.

    3. If you want to remove a variable, delete it from the text in the notification.
