Microsoft Exchange System Attendant was unable to find the Exchange server object named '%1' in Active Directory. All known domain controllers were checked for this object. |
Explanation
This Error event indicates that the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant process was not able to find the Microsoft Exchange server object in Active Directory. This failure might have occurred because of missing permissions, or because the Exchange Server object was removed from Active Directory. This event might also occur if the distinguished name of the Exchange server was changed. There might be other event messages in the Application log accompanying this event. These messages include the following:
- Event 9149 Microsoft Exchange System Attendant failed to start Exchange server 'ServerName'. Error code '0x8007200a'.
- Event 9149 Microsoft Exchange System Attendant failed to start Exchange server 'Servername'. Error code '0x80072030'.
- Event 1005 Unexpected error%1 occurred. The specified directory service attribute or value does not exist.
- Event 9186 Microsoft Exchange System Attendant has detected that the local computer is not a member of group %1. System Attendant is going to add the local computer into the group.
- Event 9187 Microsoft Exchange System Attendant failed to add the local computer as a member of the DS group object %1. Please stop all the Microsoft Exchange services, add the local computer into the group manually and restart all the services.
User Action
To resolve this error, do one or both of the following:
- Check to make sure that the distinguished name of the Exchange server named in this event was not modified.
- Verify that the Exchange server is part of the Exchange Domain Servers group.
