OABGen encountered an error while generating the differential downloads of address list '%1'. The offline address book has not been updated so clients will not be able to download the current set of changes. Check other logged events to find the cause of this error. %n- %2

Explanation

This Error event indicates that the offline address book (OAB) generation (OABGen) failed to retrieve some parts of the previous version of the OAB while generating the differential OAB file.

User Action

To resolve this Error event, do one or more of the following:

  • Review the Application log for related events. For example, events that occur immediately before and after this event may provide more information about the root cause of this error.
  • If this event has been logged more than once for the same file, check the file permissions in the OAB distribution point. To locate the file path location for the OAB Web-based distribution point, use the Exchange Management Shell to run the Get-OABVirtualDirectory cmdlet. To locate the file path location for the OAB public folders-based distribution point, use the Exchange Management Shell to run the Get-PublicFolder cmdlet.
