When sizing your databases for Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection, ensure that you account for the projected size of your databases based on the following factors:
Number of client computers in your organization
The number of days for which you want to keep data, called the retention period
The average number of Configuration Manager collections to which each client computer belongs
The average projected or historical number of detections per client computer per day
