Device Manager 2011 Client Installation

This section provides information about how to install, upgrade, or uninstall Device Manager 2011 client on devices in your enterprise.

Use the software distribution feature in Configuration Manager to distribute Device Manager 2011 client to a device. The software distribution feature provides a set of tools and resources that help you create and manage packages, programs, distribution points, and advertisements that are used to distribute software to devices within your enterprise. Important

Device Manager 2011 inventory extensions will not provide write filter status for devices that have the Device Manager 2011 client installed by using the software distribution feature. Write filter status is only available on devices that have the Device Manager 2011 client installed by the device manufacturer.

Make sure that your system matches the requirements listed in the Client Installation Requirements section.

To install Device Manager 2011 client on a device, use the installer. To upgrade Device Manager 2011 client on a device, use the upgrade installer.
