How to Configure CSS Reports

When you install Commerce Server 2009 and use the Commerce Server Configuration Wizard, you can decide to configure Commerce Server Staging (CSS) reports. If you did not configure CSS reports during your Commerce Server 2009 installation, you can use the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard to set up reports later. This topic describes how to configure CSS reports by using the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard in the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. 

CSS reports display event information that is stored in the CSS events Access database. For more information, see What are the Staging Concepts? and Where is Staging Content Stored? The CSS reports feature requires IIS to configure reports. For instructions about how to install IIS, see How to Enable IIS on the Web Servers.

To configure CSS reports

  1. Create a virtual directory using IIS Manager. For instructions, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=92579.

  2. In the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard, on the Virtual Directory Alias page, in the Alias text box, type Publishing, and then click Next.

  3. On the Web Site Content Directory page, locate or type the address of the following content folder that you created to hold the content: <drive letter>:\<Commerce Server path>\Staging\CommerceServer\Publishing. Click Next.

  4. On the Virtual Directory Access Permissions page, click Read and Run scripts (such as ASP). Make sure that the other check boxes are cleared, and then click Next.

  5. To create your virtual directory and close the wizard, and then click Finish.

  6. In IIS Manager, in the left pane, expand Web Sites and Default Web Site. Right-click Publishing, and then click Properties.

  7. In the Publishing Properties dialog box, on the Directory Security tab, under Authentication and access control, click Edit. Modify the authentication methods for the Publishing virtual directory to match the following properties:

    Property

    Setting

    Anonymous access

    Disable

    Integrated Windows authentication

    Enable

  8. Click OK to close the Publishing Properties dialog box.

  9. In IIS Manager, in the left pane, click Web Service Extensions. In the right pane, verify that the status of Active Server Pages is set to Allowed.
