Field name

Type or select the name of the field from the drop-down list. The field is a product, product property, or a category in a catalog.

If you select the Date property, your expression may return different results than you expect. The following is detailed information about how the search results display for the Date property for both the Marketing and Catalog Systems.

Marketing System:

All dates in the Marketing System are stored in universal time (UTC). This can affect your date searches because a date entered in local time may not be on the same day in UTC. For example, 1/1/2006 20:00 PST is 1/2/2006 6:00 UTC.

All date comparisons in the marketing search compare dates only (not times). This can affect your date searches because the Before and After operators will not match time differences that are on the same date. For example, 1/1/2006 2:00 is not before 1/1/2006 14:00.

Catalog System:

All dates in the Catalog System are stored in local time. This can affect your date searches because a date modified by another user in a different time zone may not be on the same day. For example, 1/2/2006 1:00 EST is 1/1/2006 22:00 PST.

All date comparisons in the catalog search compare dates and times. This can affect your date searches because two dates will only be considered equal if the time is exactly equal as well. Therefore, we recommend that you perform date searches using the Before and After operators.

The user interface does not let you enter a specific time in your search, so the current local time is implied in all search dates. For example, if you search for dates after 1/1/2006, and you perform the search at 14:23:08, the date time that is used in the search is 1/1/2006 14:23:08.
