Personalize my handheld device with my photos

Some snapshots are so great you just can't get enough of them. That's what favorites are for—choose some with just a couple of taps, and they'll show up in their own area of the Photos Hub. You can set your favorites to display on the animated Photos Tile on Start, or pin them there for one-tap access.

To add a picture to Favorites

  1. On StartPhone hardware start button, tap PhotosHandheld8 start icon pictures photos.

  2. Find a picture and tap to open it.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • If the picture is already saved on your handheld device, tap MoreHandheld8 more ellipses, and then tap Add to favorites.

    • If the picture is in an online album, tap MoreHandheld8 more ellipses, and then tap Save to phone. Go to Albums > Saved Pictures, open the picture, and then tap MoreHandheld8 more ellipses > Add to favorites.

To personalize your handheld device using your favorites

You can set your handheld device to display a selection of your favorites on the animated Photos Tile on Start and in the background on the Photos Hub. Each time you open the Hub, you'll see a new selection in both places.

  1. On StartPhone hardware start button, tap PhotosHandheld8 start icon pictures photos.

  2. Tap MoreHandheld8 more ellipses, and then tap Shuffle background.

To pin your favorites to Start

  1. On StartPhone hardware start button , tap PhotosHandheld8 start icon pictures photos.

  2. Flick left or right to Favorites, and then tap See all.

  3. Tap MoreHandheld8 more ellipses, and then tap Pin to start.

Tip

  • You can pin other albums to Start, too—even online albums. Go to PhotosHandheld8 start icon pictures photos> Albums, tap and hold the album you want to pin, and then tap Pin to start.

  • Want to use a picture as the background on the lock screen? Find and open the one you want, Tap MoreHandheld8 more ellipses and then tap Set as lock screen.
