Sending your location to Microsoft when your handheld device is activated

You can help Microsoft learn more about where people are setting up their Windows Embedded 8 Handheld devices by sending your location when you activate your handheld device. If you choose to participate, the GPS coordinates of your handheld device will be sent to Microsoft after you finish the setup process. If your handheld device can’t connect to GPS, we’ll use Microsoft location services to approximate your location. These services will use cellular data, which could incur charges.

We’ll only collect your phone's location that one time. The information is not used to track you or your handheld device. For more information about the data collection practices for all features of your handheld device, see Windows Embedded 8 Handheld Privacy Statement.
