Getting updates for your handheld device
Microsoft may release updates with useful or critical improvements for your handheld device. To make sure you know about any update as it becomes available, your handheld device scans regularly for updates.
If you choose the Recommended settings when setting up your handheld device, updates will automatically be downloaded to your handheld device using a preferred connection, as long as your current Data Sense settings allow it. Then we’ll notify you before we install the update.
If you choose Custom settings and clear the Automatically download updates check box, we’ll notify you before we download any updates, and then again before we install them.
To turn automatic download of updates on or off after you've set up your handheld device:
Go to Settings > Phone update.
Tap the Automatically download updates check box.
