Business Desk: Updated configuration not reflected

If you changed the configuration of Commerce Server Business Desk and then stopped and started your Web site, Business Desk is not updated with those changes. The application is not reloaded and it still uses the old .xml files.

Solution

After you have changed the configuration of Business Desk, you must restart Business Desk on the Web server in order for those changes to appear. To do this, you can open and then save the Global.asa file, which changes the "last modified" time and makes the configuration updates appear in Business Desk.

To open and then save the Global.asa file

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Notepad.

  2. On the File menu, click Open. Navigate to your Global.asa file, and then double-click the file to open it.On the File menu, click Save to save the Global.asa file without changing it.

  3. To exit Notepad, on the File menu, click Exit.

Changes to the Business Desk configuration are now saved. All Business Desk client users must now close and re-open Business Desk to see the configuration changes.
