Server-specific Software Requirements

The deployment process depends heavily on where you would like to install the Commerce Server components. In the simplest configuration, all of the Commerce Server components are installed on one computer. In many large-scale deployments, the Commerce Server components are installed on different computers. For example, the Analysis and Data Warehouse component of Commerce Server is typically installed on separate computers running SQL Server. Web Server Requirements

When deploying Commerce Server 2002, each Web server requires the following software products:

Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Service Pack 2
Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0
MSXML version 3.0 with Service Pack 2, available on the Commerce Server product CD (\Support\MSXML 3.0 Sp2\msxml3sp2setup.exe)
MDAC 2.7, available on the Commerce Server product CD (\Support\MDAC 2.7\mdac_typ.exe)
Commerce Server 2002 (without Business Desk)

Database Server Requirements

When deploying Commerce Server 2002, each database server requires the following software products:

Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Service Pack 2
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack 2
MDAC 2.7, available on the Commerce Server product CD (\Support\MDAC 2.7\mdac_typ.exe)

Business Desk Requirements

When deploying Commerce Server 2002, each server running Business Desk requires the following software products:

Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Service Pack 2 or Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0
MSXML version 3.0 with Service Pack 2
Commerce Server 2002 (with Business Desk)

Domain Controller Requirements

Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Service Pack 2

Firewall Requirements

Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 or later
Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000
