Lab 1: Setting up Direct Mailer

In this lab, you set up Direct Mailer to use a drop directory. When you use a drop directory, your Direct Mailer jobs can be processed by a Microsoft Exchange Server, which delivers your files asynchronously. Because the link between Direct Mailer and Exchange is asynchronous, the jobs may be delivered at a quicker rate. For more information about configuring Direct Mailer, see Configuring Direct Mailer.

To control the way your Direct Mailer job is run, you must modify the Direct Mailer properties. In this step, you will set up the Direct Mailer delivery location to use a drop directory.

To set up Direct Mailer to use a drop directory

  1. Expand Commerce Server Manager, expand Global Resources, right click Direct Mail on <server name>, and then click Properties.
