Deleting User Profiles

You use the Users module to remove existing profiles from the Commerce Server database.

You must have access to the Profiles modules to make changes to site terms, profile definitions, and profiles. For information about Business Desk permissions, see About Business Desk Security.

  • To delete the contents of a property that is defined as a join key that has been used to collect data, you must first delete the database column that the property is mapped to.

To delete a user profile

To delete multiple user profiles

To delete an embedded user profile

  • A profile that has been deleted cannot be recovered.

To delete a user profile

  1. In Profiles, click Users.

  2. In the User Object screen, select the user profile you want to delete, and then click Delete on the toolbar.

    • To display a particular profile, you use the Find pane at the top of the User Object screen. For information about finding a user profile, see Finding a User Profile.
  3. In the Delete dialog box, click Yes to delete the user profile.

The user profile is deleted.

To delete multiple user profiles

  • If you click Select All to select all user profiles in the Filtered View list, only the user profiles on the current screen (a maximum of 20 users per screen) are selected.
  1. In Profiles, click Users.

  2. In the User Object screen, select the user profiles you want to delete, and then click**Delete** on the toolbar.

  3. In the Delete dialog box, click Yes to delete the selected profiles.

    The user profiles are deleted.

  4. To return to the Profiles screen, click Back on the toolbar.

To delete an embedded user profile

  1. In Profiles, click Users.
  2. In the User Object screen, select the user profile that contains the embedded profile you want to delete, and then click**Open** on the toolbar.
  3. In the Update Profile: <user profile> screen, open the drop-down list of the property that contains the profile you want to delete, and then select Remove profile reference.
  4. In the Delete dialog box, click Yes to delete the embedded user profile.
  5. To save the updated profile and return to the User Object screen, click Save and go back on the toolbar.

The profile is saved, and the embedded profile is deleted from the Profiles database.
