Set Up Commerce Server Profiles

The following steps assume you have installed Commerce Server 2000 and verified that a Solution Site runs successfully in your environment. You must verify that the Commerce Server Profiling System can access the required data stores (for example, SQL Server, Active Directory, other OLE DB store or a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) version 3-compliant store).

To set up your Commerce Server profiles

  1. Determine which attributes in the Membership Directory member class you want to migrate.

  2. Use the Profiles service in Commerce Server Manager to create the underlying data elements.

  3. Use the Profiles service to map the data elements to the relevant data types available.
