Step 4: Create New Site Terms

Site terms are lists of the specific values that are pertinent to your site. You use a site term to assign this list of values to a property as an attribute. Using site terms you can standardize the values that are used throughout your site and to target products and advertisements to your users. You can also apply site terms to profile properties.

In this step, you will create a Gender site term, and define female and male as the possible values. When you create the profile property named Gender, and set the site term data type, only one of the possible values can be assigned to the profile.

After you have created your site terms, you will set up a user profile to include the site terms so you can later target an advertisement to those site users who match the user profile.
