Step 1: Adding a Ball Point Pen product to the Office Supplies catalog

  1. In the Catalogs module, click Catalog Editor.

  2. In the Catalogs screen, select Office Supplies from the Name column, and then click Open on the toolbar to open the Office Supplies catalog.

  3. In the Catalog Content – Office Supplies (English – United States) screen, in the Products section, click New.

  4. In the New Product dialog box, select Pen from the list, and then click OK.

  5. In the Catalog Editor – Office Supplies (English – United States) – new (Pen) screen, in the Product Properties section, do the following:

    Use this To do this
    Label Type Pen - Ball Point.
    Name Type Ball Point Pen.
    Description Type The ball point pen product.
  6. Expand the Product Variants section, click New, and then do the following:

    Use this To do this
    SKU Type bpp01.
    Body Color Select Black from the drop-down list.
    Manufacturer Type Office Supplies.
    InkColor Select Black from the drop-down list.
    TipType Select Ball Point from the drop-down list.
    Variant price Type .99.
  7. Click Done.

    The Ball Point pen product, SKU bpp01, appears in the Product Variants list.

  8. In the Product Variants section, click New, and then do the following:

    Use this To do this
    SKU Type bpp02.
    Body Color Select Blue from the drop-down list.
    Manufacturer Type Office Supplies.
    InkColor Select Blue from the drop-down list.
    TipType Select Ball Point from the drop-down list.
    Variant price Type .99.
  9. Click Done.

    The Ball Point pen product, SKU bpp02, appears in the Product Variants list.

To assign this product to the Pens category

  1. Expand the Assigned Categories section.

  2. In the Assigned Categories section, in the Available categories list, select Pens and then click Add.

    The Pens category appears in the Assigned categories list.

To save your changes

  1. Click save and go back on the toolbar to return to the Catalog Content – Office Supplies (English – United States) screen.

    The message "Saving, please wait" appears.

  2. In the Catalog Content – Office Supplies (English – United States) screen, in the Products section, click Find Now.

    The Pen - Ball Point product you just created appears in the Products section, in the Products list-box.

Proceed to Step 2: Adding Felt Tip Pen product to the Office Supplies catalog, where you will add two felt tip pen product variants to your base catalog.
