Starting with an Example Site
If you are developing a new international business-to-consumer (B2C) site, you can base an effective site on the Retail Solution Site or the International Retail2002 Site. The choice depends on several factors, such as your existing code base and the features you need in your site. It is possible to use Active Server Pages (ASP) and ASP.NET in the same site, but this can compromise the performance advantage of ASP.NET.
Important
- We recommend that you do not develop a production-quality site based on the International Retail2002 Site. We recommend that you use the Commerce Server 2002 Starter Site to develop a production quality site. You can download the Starter Site from https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=37800.
Commerce Server Retail Site is available at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=6491.
The following table lists the differences between the two sites.
