Changing system date separators returns an error

If you change the system date separator to a character other than a slash (/), a period (.), or a dash (-), and then try to open Commerce Server Business Desk, the following error message appears:

Errors occurred while loading part of the Business Desk.

This error occurs only after restarting Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0.

Solution

Close Business Desk and change the system date separator back to a slash (/).

To change the system data separator

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Double-click Regional Options, and then click the Date tab.

  3. In the Date separator box, select /, and then click OK.

    • Restarting Internet information Services (IIS) will cause your Web site to stop running temporarily. Make certain you need to restart IIS before proceeding. For more information see, Restarting IIS and Commerce Server Services.
  4. Restart IIS.

  5. Reopen Business Desk.

To restart IIS

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Services Manager.
  2. Click the plus (+) sign to expand your server name group.
  3. Right-click Default Web Site, and then click Stop.
  4. Right-click Default Web Site, and then click Start.

IIS is restarted and you can re-open Business Desk.
