Use this method to run the auction engine and determine the status of the auction. It updates computed values in both the Item and Bid tables.

Parameters

szAuctionId

[in] A BSTR that contains the unique auction ID.

bOptimize

[in, optional, defaultvalue (0)] A VARIANT_BOOL that determines when to stop searching for a winning bid. The default value of True indicates to cease checking for winning bids once a winner has been selected. A value of False indicates to search all records in the database in order to look for winning bids.

unnamed parameter

[out, retval] Reserved for future use.

Return Values

This method returns an HRESULT indicating whether it completed successfully. See the Error Values section for more details.

Error Values

This method returns S_OK (0x00000000) to indicate success and standard COM HRESULT error values to indicate failure. For more information about standard COM errors, see Standard COM Errors. Additional information may be available using the global Err object, which can be accessed using the API function GetErrorInfo. In particular, the GetDescription method of the IErrorInfo interface may return a text description of the error.
