Step 2: Create a Target Group

After you create a campaign expression, you create a target group, which is a collection of campaign expressions. You specify whether to include, exclude, or require each of the campaign expressions.

In this step, you will create a target group for female contractors on your site by requiring the Women and Contractor expressions. You use the Target Group module to create new expression, and then create a new target group.

1. In Campaigns, click Target Group.

2. In the Target Group screen, click on the toolbar.

3. In the Target Group: New screen, in the Target group name box, type Female Contractors, and then click Create New Expression.

   Note

   • You can create a new campaign expression using a procedure similar to that shown in Step 1 "Create a Campaign Expression."

4. In the Target Expression dialog box, do the following:

   Use this	To do this
   Name	Type Contractor.
   Description	Type Contractor / Commercial Business user.
   Target based on the following conditions:	Click New. First box. Select User Object from the drop-down list, and then select User Description under General Information. Second box. Select is equal to as an operator from the drop-down list. Third box. Click the ellipsis [...] button. In the Choose a Site Tem dialog box, select Contractor / Commercial Business from the list, and then click OK.

5. Click Apply.

6. To save the target expression click Save.

7. Close the Target Expression dialog box.

To create a new target group

1. In the Target Group: New screen, do the following:

   Use this	To do this
   Target group name	Type Female Contractors. Click New.
   Expression	Select Female from the drop-down list.
   Action	Select the Require action for the new target group from the drop-down list.

2. Click Accept, and then click New to select another campaign expression.
3. In the Target Group: New screen, do the following:

   Use this	To do this
   Expression	Select Contractor from the drop-down list.
   Action	Select the Require action for the new target group from the drop-down list.

4. Click Accept
5. To save the target group and return to the Target Group screen, click on the toolbar.
