Discount Features
Discounts are displayed during checkout. They are typically based on the content of the shopping cart at the time of checkout. Discounts use the same ContentItemControl****control as ads.
The ContentItemControl control exposes a culture property. This property is set by default to the culture of the site. It can be changed to a different culture to allow targeting expressions to be used to target content based on a specific culture.
Each discount item provides support for a localized shopping cart text display message. This message should contain the percentage off or dollar amount off of the purchase. In the case of dollar amount off discount, the localized text must use the site currency in the dollar off message even if the preferred currency of the user is some other currency. The site does not convert the dollar off amount to another currency for display.
