  • You cannot use host headers in a deployment of multiple sites that implement AuthFilter. Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) does not support the use of host headers with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). However, for basic security, AuthFilter requires the use of SSL when passing login credentials to the server.

The following table shows the options and functions available in the Web Site Configuration dialog box.

Use this To do this
IP address Type an IP address for the Web server.

The All Unassigned value refers to IP addresses that are assigned to a computer but not assigned to a specific site. The Default Web Site uses all of the IP addresses that are not assigned to other sites. Only one site can be set to use unassigned IP addresses.

TCP port Type the port address for this Web site. The default port number is 80.
Host header name Type the host header name for the Web site. If you are adding additional sites to a single IP address by using host headers, you must assign a host header name.
