ScriptBuffer.DirectRow Method

Directs a row to the specified output when a component has more than one available output.

Namespace: Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipeline
Assembly: Microsoft.SqlServer.TxScript (in microsoft.sqlserver.txscript.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Protected Sub DirectRow ( _
    OutputID As Integer _
)
protected void DirectRow (
    int OutputID
)
protected:
void DirectRow (
    int OutputID
)
protected void DirectRow (
    int OutputID
)
protected function DirectRow (
    OutputID : int
)

Parameters

  • OutputID
    The ID of the output to which the component directs the row.

Remarks

The Script component developer does not use the ScriptBuffer class directly, but indirectly, through the derived classes in the BufferWrapper project item that represent the component's input and outputs.

The developer does not have to use the DirectRow method, because the derived classes contain a DirectRowTo<OutputBufferX> method specific to each output.

Example

The following sample code from the autogenerated BufferWrapper project item demonstrates how the Script component uses the DirectRow method in the methods that it generates in a Script component with two outputs.

    Public Sub DirectRowToOutput0()
        MyBase.DirectRow(56)
    End Sub

    Public Sub DirectRowToOutput1()
        MyBase.DirectRow(246)
    End Sub
