SSL offloading is the process of transferring the processing of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption and decryption from your Exchange servers to a dedicated device. In some cases, the amount of processing done to encrypt and decrypt data can prove processor intensive. Configuring SSL offloading can improve performance of your Exchange server by transferring that processing to an external server or device.
