Unable to connect to a database specified in the solution.

While opening the solution, an attempt to connect to an Access/Jet database failed. You have opened an existing solution that expects an Access/Jet database connection that does not appear in Server Explorer.

To use the solution, choose Yes to modify the Access/Jet database connection, the password, or both. If you choose No, any use of the database (for example, running a query) will display this message again. If the problem continues, check with your database administrator.

To correct this error

  1. Click Yes to modify the database connection. The Data Link Properties dialog box appears.

  2. On the Connection tab, in the Using the filename box, correct the path to the database if necessary. Optionally, you can click Browse to locate the database.

  3. In the list box on the All tab, double-click Jet OLEDB:System database. The Edit Property Value dialog box appears. Correct the path to the Access database if necessary.

  4. Also in the list box on the All tab, double-click Jet OLEDB Database password. The Edit Property Value dialog box appears. Correct the password if necessary.

  5. Click OK to save the changes.
