System Configuration Check

Use the System Configuration Check page to check the computer for potential configuration problems. The computer must have the following software installed prior to SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition Server Tools setup:

  • Windows 2000 or later
  • Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.x or later versions (32-bit only)
  • Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.7 or later
  • Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 or later
  • SQL Server 2005 Replication components

  • SQL Server 2000 replication components, if you are synchronizing with SQL Server 2000 SP3 or later

The SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition Server Tools Setup Wizard checks for each of these requirements sequentially. It does not install any missing software.

While the check is in progress, you can click Cancel to abort the configuration check. You cannot continue the Server Tools setup process if the configuration check has been aborted.

Status/Checks

If one of the required software installations is missing, an error message will be displayed. The configuration check will continue despite any errors until all configuration requirements have been checked. It is possible to have multiple configuration errors during the configuration check. If there is an error, when the configuration check is complete, you will not be allowed to continue SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition Server Tools Setup and you must close the SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition Server Tools Setup Wizard, download and install the appropriate requirements, and then restart the wizard.
