Specify Source and Destination (Migration Wizard)

Use the Specify Source and Destination page to identify the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services server that contains the databases to migrate, and the instance of SQL Server 2005 or the script file in which to define the migrated SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services (SSAS) databases.

Note

The Migration Wizard migrates only the metadata of the database.

Options

  • SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services source server
    Type the name of the server that hosts the SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services database to migrate.
  • SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services destination server
    Click this option to perform the migration when the wizard finishes. Type the name of the server where the SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services databases will be moved.
  • Script file
    Click this option to save the output of the migration process to a file containing XML for Analysis (XMLA) commands and Analysis Services Scripting Language (ASSL) elements for later execution. Type the name of the file to be created.
  • Browse
    Click Browse to choose the script file to generate.
