Update Model

Use this page to replace a report model with a new report model (.smdl) file located on the file system. The report model contains a metadata description of a data source and its relationships. Security settings that were specified for model items in the model are migrated to the updated model.

If the data source name for the updated model is different than the one used when the model was originally generated, the link to the data source existing on the report server is removed and all the reports that used this model will not run now. To be able to run these reports again, you must link the updated model to a valid data source. In addition, reports will not run if any model items they use are missing from the updated model.

Note

Report server uses session caching to provide a consistent viewing experience within the same browser session. You may need to use the refresh feature of your browser to see your changes.
