Define Parent-Child Relationship (Dimension Wizard)
Use the Define Parent-Child Relationship page to enable and define a parent-child relationship for the dimension.
Note
This page is displayed only if you selected Build the dimension using a data source on the Select Build Method page and if you selected Standard dimension on the Select the Dimension Type page.
Important
The Dimension Wizard cannot define parent-child relationships for key attributes based on composite primary keys in the dimension table. You can define such relationships after completing the Dimension Wizard by using the Dimension Designer. For more information about Dimension Designer, see Dimension Designer (SSAS).
Options
- This dimension contains a parent-child relationship between attributes
Select to enable parent-child relationships between attributes in the dimension.
- Identify the parent attribute in the hierarchical relationship
Select the parent attribute from the list of attributes in the dimension.
- Preview attribute values
Displays preview data based on the parent attribute selection.
