Report Model Query Designer F1 Help

Use the Report Model Query Designer to generate Report Builder queries within Report Designer.

You can open Report Model Query Designer by opening Business Intelligence Development Studio, creating a New Project, selecting Report Server Project, and then specifying a connection string to the report model.

In the Data Source dialog box, specify the following:

  • In the Name text box, type a name for your data source.
  • In the Type drop-down menu, select Report Server Model.
  • In the Connection string properties box, type a URL to the report model on a report server. The following example illustrates the connection string syntax for connecting to a report model:
    Server=http://<reportservername>/reportserver; datasource=/<folder>/<modelname>
