Verify your PerformancePoint Server edition and version number

This topic describes how to verify your PerformancePoint Server edition and the corresponding version number and service pack level. It also describes how to identify the specific PerformancePoint Server add-in or tool you are using. Should you ever need to contact a Microsoft support professional for help with PerformancePoint Server, you will need to know the edition and version number you are using.

How to determine which version of PerformancePoint Server is running

To determine the version of PerformancePoint Server from the client you can click Help and then click About to see the details. To determine the version of PerformancePoint Server from a DLL file, use the following procedure:

  1. Open Windows Explorer

  2. Navigate to either of the following locations;

    <SystemDrive>\Program Files\Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server\3.0\WindowsService\PSPlanningService.exe

    or

    <SystemDrive>\Program Files\Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server\3.0\WindowsService\bin\Microsoft.PerformancePoint.Planning.Server.Interfaces.WebServices.dll

  3. Right-click either PSPlanningService.exe or Microsoft.PerformancePoint.Planning.Server.Interfaces.WebServices.dll and then click Properties.

  4. On the Properties dialog click the Details tab.
