This article details resources for the Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010 and Project Server Integration Feature Pack which strengthens the Microsoft Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Solution. The integration between Project Server and Team Foundation Server is an improvement for organizations that want to bridge the collaboration gap between the Project Management Office and software development teams. The Feature Pack enables teams to work together more effectively by doing the following things:

  • It provides up-to-date insight into portfolio execution, alignment with strategic objectives, and resource utilization of software development projects by using the quantitative data that is stored in different systems.

  • It automates the exchange and sharing of project information across teams and improves coordination between teams that are using different methodologies, such as waterfall and agile. The Feature Pack uses common data and agreed upon metrics to achieve this automation.

  • Enables development and project management teams to collaborate and communicate project timeline and progress information by using familiar tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Project, and SharePoint Server.
