Project Items

Project items include connections, queries, and miscellaneous files that are within the project container. Items represent a physical object that you can locate in storage. In Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, all files for a project must reside within the same physical directory. This directory is called the project directory. For each item that appears in the project in Solution Explorer, a physical file exists in the project directory.

SQL Server Management Studio provides a large number of pre-defined templates for creating items. You can use one of the templates to create the items that you might need to develop your project.
