We will also cover the new Exchange Management Console, how the improved GUI management tool is simpler for you to use, and quicker to navigate. We will also cover PowerShell, the new administrative interface provides a rich command-line experience. We will round off with a look at the significant client side improvements and transport rules.

  • Exchange Server 2007 Client Access and Web Services
    In this session, we will cover Exchange 2007 Client Access Services. The overall goal of Client Access Services is to add value to the data in your inbox by letting you access that data from wherever you are. As well as Outlook, OWA and mobile device access we'll be covering some new client access features introduced in Exchange 2007. We'll look at the various underlying components of Exchange 2007 Client Access Services. We will look at improvements to calendaring functionality, the new Unified Messaging and then Exchange web services and programmatic access to messaging data. We will round off with looking at Exchange Server ActiveSync improvements.

  • Exchange Server 2007: Giving the Administrator More Control
    In this session we will see how Exchange gives administrators more control. We'll cover a range of topics, starting with a quick review of the Exchange Server 2007 themes. We'll discuss server role-based deployment, and both the wizard driven and command-line installation routines. We'll go on to look at the Exchange Management Console and Shell, and we'll wrap up by discussing the changes to the storage architecture that benefit administrators, including Local Continuous Replication (LCR) and Clustered Continuous Replication (CCR).

  • Message Security, Active Protection, and Compliance with Exchange 2007
    The sessions covers three main topics. We will start with a look at message hygiene. Your e-mail system is constantly being bombarded with unwanted and undesirable messages, and as a messaging administrator, it's your job to clean that up. Next we will discuss messaging policies. Following on from recent accounting scandals and the global terrorism threat, governments and their agencies require organizations to store, and produce on request, pertinent e-mail messages. Exchange Server 2007 provides policies to achieve this goal with simple to setup and administer policies. Finally, we will look at how messages can be made secure whilst in transit through your organization, between organizations and across un-trusted networks, like the Internet.

    In this session, we will focus on using the new Exchange Management Console. We will start with an overview of the differences between this new interface and the old Exchange System Manager. We will then look at how to manage different aspects of the system with the new Console, starting with Recipients, then servers, and the organization using transport rules and so forth. Finally we will spend some time looking at the new Toolbox, which includes the queue viewer, and the Best Practice Analyzer.

  • Recipient Management, Policies and Permissions in Exchange 2007
    In this session we will discuss the recipient management model, which has changed since Exchange Server 2003. There are a number of things we will cover here, most notably, how Exchange Server 2007 handles resources. The other major are we will be discussing is changes to the administrative permission model. In Exchange 2007, you have the option to separate your Active Directory administration from your Exchange administration, and during the session, we'll see how that's achieved.

  • Storage Sizing and Testing for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007
    In this session we will look at storage, storage sizing and test for Exchange Server 2007. We will start with an overview of storage, and discuss the Exchange Server 2007 design goals related to storage. We will compare and contrast Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007 storage architectures. We will take a look at reliability and high availability using Single Copy Clustering (SCC) and both Local Continuous Replication and Continuous Clustered Replication. We will also cover the five server roles that have been introduced in 2007, and discuss how each role uses storage and we will be covering the issues that affect storage design for each of these server roles. The session wil also cover critical area of backup and recovery in 2007, before finishing with a discussion on monitoring and testing storage.

  • Improvements to Calendaring in Exchange Server 2007
    In this session, we will discuss how Exchange Server 2007 makes personal and group scheduling really reliable and easier to do. When we talk about reliability. We'll discuss those changes in the session. We'll take a look at how Exchange 2007 has reduced the latency in calendar updates. We will also cover resource mailboxes, such as rooms and equipment, and the specific Active Directory changes made to support these new recipient types, and we'll outline the server side automation of the scheduling processes for resources, which make handling meetings with far easier.

    In this session we will take a look at the improvements made to transport and message routing in Exchange Server 2007 and highlight the benefits to both users and administrators resulting from these changes. We will start by looking at the pros and cons of the Exchange Server 2000/2003 message routing and transport services. We will then spend a little time comparing Exchange 2000/2003 with 2007 before running through a couple of demonstrations showing how to setup connectors between the hub and edge servers, and how to enable transport rules within your organization.

    In this session, we will talk about installation and deployment of Exchange Server 2007. We will start with a look at various deployment scenarios. Then, as Exchange Server supports role-based deployments, we will take a look at server roles. We will run through detailed pre-installation requirements in terms of the supporting infrastructure, software, hardware, and security. Next, after outlining the installation process, we will run through a few demonstrations. Finally, we will look at how to automate server deployments, using the unattended setup commands, and Windows PowerShell scripts to provision servers following deployment.

    In this session, we will discuss the improvements that have been made to Outlook Web Access 2007. We will talk about the significant changes in calendaring, and show how these improvements make calendaring significantly easier to use through OWA. We will discuss file access from OWA, before moving on to talk a little about how to administer OWA 2007 and how to monitor and troubleshoot it. Then we'll finish the session with a discussion about unified messaging and a look at how to use Unified Messaging features within OWA to access voice mail or configure your calendar.
