New ways to deploy the new Office

Following up on the GA release of Microsoft Office 365 services for business, TechNet on Monday published a feature package highlighting new content for IT pros to assist in the planning and deployment of this new services bundle. Check out "At your service: New ways to deploy the new Office" for a rundown of this new content. On an ongoing basis, the Office Garage Series for IT Pros brings you entertaining demos of new Office capabilities that IT should be aware of.

Each week, the dynamic duo of Jeremy Chapman and Yoni Kirsh will demo capabilities around automation and integration with software distribution solutions, and perform some XStream installs over air, land, and water.

Speaking of the new Office, you can also download Project Professional 2013 as a stand-alone evaluation. It is the only project management system designed to work with other Microsoft applications and cloud services. Preview and install the 60-day trial and learn how to simplify IT management with straightforward provisioning and enterprise-grade reliability.

Windows 7 users also saw some good news last week, as Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 became globally available for download in 95 languages. According to this blog post, Microsoft will begin auto-updating Windows 7 customers to IE10 in the weeks ahead, starting with customers running the IE10 Release Preview. With this final release, IE10 brings to Windows 7 the same standards support, with improved performance, security, privacy, and reliability that users enjoy on Windows 8.
