DESCRIPTION

The Set-DhcpServerv4Class cmdlet modifies an IPv4 vendor class or user class on the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server service by using the specified parameters.

You must specify the Description or Data parameter.

EXAMPLES

Example 1: Set data for a user class

PS C:\> Set-DhcpServerv4Class -Name "User Class for Lab Computers" -Type User -Data "LabComputers"

This example sets the data for a DHCPv4 user class for lab computers to LabComputers.

Example 2: Set data for a vendor class

PS C:\> Set-DhcpServerv4Class -Name "MSUCClient" -Type Vendor -Data "MS-UC-Client"

This example sets the data for the DHCPv4 vendor class for Microsoft Unified Communication clients on the DHCP server service to MS-UC-Client.

PARAMETERS

-AsJob

Runs the cmdlet as a background job. Use this parameter to run commands that take a long time to complete. The cmdlet immediately returns an object that represents the job and then displays the command prompt. You can continue to work in the session while the job completes. To manage the job, use the *-Job cmdlets. To get the job results, use the Receive-Job cmdlet. For more information about Windows PowerShell® background jobs, see about_Jobs.
