WriteLine Method (Object)

[This documentation is for preview only, and is subject to change in later releases. Blank topics are included as placeholders.]

Writes the text representation of an object by calling the ToString method on that object, followed by a line terminator to the text string or stream.

Namespace:  System.IO
Assembly:  System.IO (in System.IO.dll)

public virtual void WriteLine(
	Object value
)

Parameters

value
Type: System..::..Object
The object to write. If value is nullNothingnullptrunita null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic), only the line terminator is written.

This overload is equivalent to the Write(String, Object) overload. The FormatProvider property, if not nullNothingnullptrunita null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic), specifies the culture-specific formatting.

The line terminator is defined by the CoreNewLine field.
