Problem The virus protection for e-mail cannot be installed.
Features affected Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server is not installed, so the anti-spam settings for e-mail are not being correctly applied.
Solution You must manually install Forefront Security for Exchange Server 2007.
Important
Prerequisite task Before you continue, ensure that Exchange Server 2007 is installed. For instructions about how to install Exchange Server 2007, please contact Microsoft Product Support.
Insert Windows SBS 2008 Disc 2 in the DVD drive.
Browse to cmpnents\fss, and then double-click Setup.exe.
In the User Account Control window, click Continue. The Forefront Security for Exchange Server Installation Wizard appears.
In the wizard, do the following:
On the Welcome page, click Next.
On the License Agreement page, review the information. If you agree with it, click Yes.
On the Customer Information page, type the required information.
On the Installation Location page, ensure that the Local Installation option is selected.
On the Installation Type page, ensure that the Full Installation option is selected.
On the Use Microsoft Update to help keep your computer secure and up to date page, ensure that the Use Microsoft Update when I check for updates (recommended) option is selected.
On the Quarantine Security Settings page, ensure that the Secure Mode option is selected.
Follow the instructions to complete the wizard.
- If you receive a message that one or more services for Exchange Server need to be restarted, click Next to restart them.
- After the services for Exchange Server are restarted, click Next.
