The registry settings for Forefront Security for Exchange Server were not applied.

Applies To: Windows SBS 2008

Problem   The registry settings for Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server (FSE) were not applied.

Features affected   The virus protection for e-mail is installed, but it is not configured with the settings that are specific to Windows SBS 2008.

Solution   To correctly configure Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server, you must manually apply the registry settings.

1. Click Start, select All Programs, click Microsoft Forefront Server Security, click Exchange Server, and then click Forefront Server Security Administrator.

2. In the User Account Control window, click Continue.

3. In the Connect to Server window, select the server running Windows SBS 2008.

4. In the License Information window, click OK.

5. In the Forefront Server Security Administrator console, in the Settings section, apply the settings listed in the table below:

6. Click Save.

7. In the Operate section, ensure that VSAPI Background Scan Job is enabled and that the scan schedule is set to 4:00 A.M. daily.
