Windows

HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft

Description

The Windows subkey contains entries that store Group Policy settings for components of Windows 2000. Group Policy creates and maintains the subkeys and entries in the Windows subkey, and those subkeys and entries are read and interpreted by the component that implements them.

This subkey stores entries that are configured separately for each user. There is also a Windows subkey in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree, which stores entries that apply to all users of the computer.
